Lamey Leads SBA at CityAuto Twilight Classic

MEMPHIS, TN (September 4, 2021) – In one of the more unique settings for a cross country meet, the St. Benedict at Auburndale girls took part in the CityAuto Twilight Classic under the lights at Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Saturday.

The Eagles finished 32nd among a tough field of the top teams in the Mid-South. Ella Lamey was the first finisher for SBA, coming in 169th in 23:42. Sarah Wiggins (24:35) in 198th and Sommer Griffs (24:36) in 199th were a second apart while Anna Leoni was 217th (25:20).

Madeline Wade finished 231st (25:51), Jenna Houff 267th (27:00) and Kayleigh Villem 274th (27:14)

In the JV race, Savannah Scott led the way with a 39th place finish in 24:21. Dayle Bullen was 139th in 29:32. Emma Von Dongen took 187th (38:08) and Abby Adams 192nd (41:22).

The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, September 15 at the first MYA League Meet at Shelby Farms Park.
