St. Benedict Wins 4-Set Thriller at Hutch

MEMPHIS, TN (September 17, 2021) – The St. Benedict at Auburndale volleyball team picked up a big region win on Tuesday, beating Hutchison 3-1. 

The Eagles (7-3) were led by Gabrielle Huntley's 16 kills, 10 digs and three service aces. Lauren Carter added 11 kills and 10 digs while Kara Crunk racked up 40 assists and 15 digs. Nicole Marable also had a big game with four aces and five digs. She was also on the service line for the final points of the deciding fourth-set.

SBA dropped the first set 25-23, but came back in dominate fashion in the second, winning 25-13. The second went the Eagles way 26-24 and the fourth by the same score.

SBA's JV won 25-10, 17-25, 16-14 while the freshmen took a hard-fought loss, going down 25-18, 19-25, 11-15.

SBA is back in action at home on Monday, September 20 hosting Brighton.
