SBA Outlasts St. Mary’s in 5-Set Thriller

CORDOVA, TN (September 2, 2021) – St. Benedict got back to its winning ways on Thursday, earning a five-set victory over St. Mary's.

The win moves SBA to 5-2 on the year and 2-2 in region play.

Kennedi Catron led the way for the Eagles with 13 kills and 10 digs. Gabrielle Huntley added 10 kills and eight digs.

The Turkeys won the first set 25-19 only to have SBA come back and win the second by the same score. SMS took a very tight third set 25-23 and put the Eagles on the ropes. SBA answered with a 25-18 win and forced a final set, closing it out with a 15-10 triumph.  

The SBA JV team posted a straight-set win (25-16, 25-11) and improved to 6-1 on the year.

The Eagles are back in action Thursday, September 9 with a visit to Bartlett.
