SBA Opens Region Play with Win over Hutch

CORDOVA, TN (August 19, 2021) – The St. Benedict volleyball team posted a convincing freshman-JV-varsity sweep over Hutchison on Thursday night.

The Eagles varsity was led by 14 kills from Kennedi Catron. Cat Provo anchored the defense, collecting 15 digs.

SBA cruised in the first two sets, opening with a 25-10 win and taking a two-set advantage with a 25-17 win in the second frame. The Sting bounced back to take the third by a score of 27-25. SBA then closed the match with a 28-18 win in the fourth.

SBA's JV team stayed perfect on the year, winning 2-0 (25-20, 25-18) while the freshman won their first action of the year, also 2-0 (25-13, 25-19).

The Eagles are back in action on Monday, August 24 at Munford. The JV match is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity to follow an hour later.
