SBA Nipped by Bartlett

CORDOVA, TN (September 10, 2021) – A game that looked to be headed to a draw swung the visitors way late Thursday as St. Benedict at Auburndale fell to Bartlett 3-1. 

The loss drops the Eagles to 2-4 on the year and stops their two-match winning streak.

Bartlett struck first, going up 1-0 just four minutes into the game. At the nine-minute mark, Emmy Brenner blasted a deep free kick over the Panthers' keeper's head to give SBA a goal and knot the score.

The second half was dominated by back and forth action, but remain tied with 10 minutes left. Bartlett then scored on a penalty kick and added another goal less than a minute later to put the game out of reach.

SBA will look to bounce back on Tuesday, September 14 with a trip to St. George's.
