SBA Wins Second-Straight; Gets by White Station

CORDOVA, TN (September 7, 2021) – Coming off a big win a week ago, the St. Benedict at Auburndale girls soccer team made it two in a row, beating White Station 2-1 Tuesday night. 

Prior to the game, the Eagles (2-3) honored seniors Amber Buckingham, Emma Clowney, Kylie O'Connor, Lucrezia Ongaro, Emma Unger and Kendall Waymon.

SBA struck first with Maria Bair finding the back of the net just eight minutes into the contest. However, the Spartans quickly knotted the score 1-1 and the two teams played even the rest of the half.

Both squads had chances early in the second but neither could capitalize. With 28 minutes left, Stella Drake connected on a cross to freshman Kate Simoncic for the eventual game winner.

Amber Buckingham and Gracie Luther split time in goal for the Eagles.

SBA is back on its home field Thursday, September 9 hosting Bartlett at 6 p.m.
