Turkeys Spoil Eagles Home Opener

CORDOVA, TN (August 31, 2021) – On the home turf for the first time this season, St. Benedict at Auburndale was unable to overcome a tough St. Mary's squad and fell 5-0 Tuesday night.

The team's played a scoreless first 20 minutes until SMS scored two quick goals right before halftime.

In a carbon copy of the two team's match-up earlier in the season, the Turkeys came out of the break and found a quick score to stop the start of the SBA's momentum. St. Mary's went on to add two more scores late and make it a 5-0 final.

The SBA Eagles JV team fell to SMS earlier in the day, 4-2.

St. Benedict is back in action at home on Thursday, September 2 hosting Crosstown High School. Kick off is set for 5:30 p.m.
