Girls' Basketball Hosts Playoff Game

(MEMPHIS, TN - February 20, 2024) - It was an eventful end to the season for the Lady Eagles, who hosted Harpeth Hall in a first round TSSAA playoff game at Christian Brothers University on Tuesday.

On Thursday night, the team hosted Briarcrest for Senior Night at St. Francis due to gym renovations.

They blasted the Saints, 60-44, to move to 5-3 in the region behind strong support from the student section.

Gracie Lamey and Haylie Burton both scored 19 points and Maria Bair chipped in 10 of her own.

The team led 26-15 at halftime and never looked back, slowly pulling away in the fourth quarter.

At halftime, Lamey and Bair were honored as they played their final "home" game.

Despite tying the Saints' record at 5-3, the team finished as the third seed and drew Harpeth Hall.

The Lady Eagles stayed within range for much of the first half, thanks to sharp outside shooting from Haylie Burton, who scored 23 points in the game.

Bair scored 11 of her own, but the Honeybear offensive attack was ultimately too strong and they advanced with a 73-54 win.
