Saints Hand SBA Girls Region Loss

(EADS, TN - January 28, 2022) - The SBA girls' basketball team squared off with Briarcrest in a road region contest on Friday night.

The Saints came out hot in the first half and quickly built an insurmountable lead. Maria Bair scored all six of her points early as the SBA offense fought to keep within range.

However, the Briarcrest offense continued to push forward and the game was nearly out of hand by halftime, when the Saints held a 35-14 lead. Kayli Clarkson was the game's high scorer with 23 points and Kathryn Echols shot well from behind the arc, scoring 15 points herself.

The Eagle offense struggled in the second half and Briarcrest ran away to a 57-20 victory. The girls (3-16, 1-4) will welcome Lewisburg (MS) to The Nest on Tuesday.
