SBA Girls Lose Rematch With Turkeys

(CORDOVA, TN - January 27, 2022) - The Eagles and Turkeys tangled in a region rematch on Thursday at The Nest with St. Mary's looking to get revenge after the 55-50 SBA win on Jan. 11.

They eventually secured a 43-31 win after a grinder of a game by pulling away in the fourth quarter. Kai Keith was the game's high scorer with 18 points, most of which were scored during the Turkeys' fourth quarter offense burst.

Farrah Rector was SBA's leading scorer with 11 points, while Izzie Polania (9 pts) and Maria Bair (7 pts) also provided support.

Both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net in the first half, including a second quarter that saw just seven total points scored. St. Mary's held a slight 16-15 lead at the half. The third quarter was also low-scoring, setting the stage for the late St. Mary's run.

The girls (3-15, 1-3) have another important region game Friday night at Briarcrest.
