Eagles Drop Road Game at Sacred Heart
(JACKSON, TN - January 15, 2022) - The SBA girls' basketball made the trip to Jackson for a weekend matchup with Sacred Heart on Saturday.
The Knights proved to be a tough matchup for the Eagles. Sacred Heart built an early lead but SBA responded to cut the halftime deficit to 36-31. The Knights extended the lead a bit in the third quarter before running away with it late and notching a 79-58 victory.
Maliyah Hughes led the way with a game-high 27 point performance and Bri Greene (20 pts) also played a good game for Sacred Heart.
Maria Bair put in 24 points for SBA and Meredith McCusker had her best offensive showing of the season with 15 points.
The girls (3-12) will have a few days off before they face St. Agnes in another region game on Friday at The Nest.
