Eagles Drop Rematch Against MHEA

(CORDOVA, TN - January 7, 2022) - In a rematch of the Dec. 14 contest, MHEA emerged victorious once more. This game, however, was much closer than the previous one.

Both teams shot well early, matching basket for basket. Sarah Wiggins (8 pts) connected on a couple of outside shots while the majority of the MHEA offense ran through game high scorer Mikayla Abram (26 pts).

MHEA began to pull away in the second quarter and established a 23-16 halftime lead.

SBA responded in the third quarter, thanks primarily to hot shooting from leading scorer Maria Bair, who put in 16 points on the night. The deficit was a mere four points at the beginning of the final frame.

But the fourth quarter was all MHEA as Abram scored 14 in the quarter and Ashley Milewski took care of the ball and hit her free throws. The final was 55-41 in favor of MHEA.

The girls (2-10) will open region play at St. Mary's next Tuesday.
