Tornadoes Trip Up SBA Girls

(CORDOVA, TN - December 7, 2021) - The Union City Tornadoes traveled from up north to play the SBA girls' basketball team at The Nest on Tuesday night. They quickly proved to be a formidable opponent.

The Tornadoes' one-two punch of Amari Bonds (15 pts) and Sophie Theobald (13 pts) carried the majority of the weight for their offense while the Union City defense held the Eagles in check early on. At halftime, the score was 20-9.

The SBA offense heated up a bit in the second half. Ella Lamey (9 pts) knocked down three three-pointers in the fourth quarter and Sarah Wiggins (5 pts) hit one as well but the early deficit was too much to overcome.

The girls are now 1-3 on the season and will face Jackson Christian at home on Friday night.
