ECS Beats SBA in Opener

(CORDOVA, TN - November 18, 2021) - The St. Benedict girls' basketball team made the short trip to ECS to open its season on Thursday night.

In a matchup of Eagles, ECS had the upper hand. Katie Field led ECS with 16 points, followed by Lucy Benson (9 pts) and Carley Brock (9 pts) as they stormed out of the gate and held a 28-11 lead at halftime.

Senior Izzie Polania (9 pts) and sophomore Maria Bair (8 pts) handled the bulk of the scoring for SBA. Freshman Molly Magness (3 pts) made a three pointer in her first career appearance at the high school level.

Ultimately, the early ECS lead was too much to overcome and they came out on top by a score of 56-28.

The Lady Eagles (0-1) will be off for Thanksgiving Break before making their first appearance at home Nov. 2 against Germantown.
