Gex and Smith Combine for No-Hitter on Senior Night

(CORDOVA, TN - April 20, 2022) - On a night when the focus was on the 2022 senior class, the SBA pitching staff made an effort to steal the show.

Ginny Gex (4.0 IP, 6 K) and Charlee Smith (1.0 IP) combined to throw a no-hitter in a game that was pushed back an hour to avoid inclement weather in the area. The two pitchers were able to stifle the Millington offense all night while the Eagle offense got rolling early and benefited from a number of Trojan errors.

Neely Taylor, Zoie Bernard, and Chloe Gerard each had two hits and Gex hit a triple and drove in two runs.

Taylor and Gerard were celebrated before the game alongside Therese Daigre as part of the Senior Night festivities.

The team (9-13) looks to carry the positive momentum into a region game against Briarcrest on Saturday.
