Softball Opens Region Slate with Rout of St. Agnes

(MEMPHIS, TN - March 28, 2022) - The SBA softball team opened the 2022 region schedule with a bang, dominating St. Agnes by a score of 19-0.

Charlee Smith went 3-3 with a triple and 4 RBI and Therese Daigre went 2-2 with a double, a triple, and 4 RBI. Other contributors included Neely Taylor (1-1, 3B, 2 RBI), Zoie Bernard (2-2), and Mary Spain (1-1, 2B, 2 RBI).

Ginny Gex got the win on the mound, striking out six batters in two innings of work and surrendering no hits. Charlee Smith finished off the game's final inning by striking out the side and allowing only one batter to reach base on a walk. St. Agnes recorded zero hits and every one of their outs was a strikeout.

The next game for the girls (5-5, 1-0) is at home against Greene County Tech on Thursday.
