Softball Goes 3-1 in South Panola

(SOUTH PANOLA, MS - March 26, 2022) - The softball team traveled to South Panola, Mississippi this weekend for a tournament and won three of its four games.

On Friday, they played two games, defeating Senatobia (MS) 6-5, and losing to DeSoto Central (MS) 11-1. In the Senatobia game, Neely Taylor went 1-2 with a double and an RBI, while Ginny Gex (2 RBI), Zoie Bernard, and Therese Daigre each drove in runs. Taylor stole two bases in the DeSoto Central game and Gex drove her in to score the only run on the day.

On Saturday, the girls defeated Oxford (MS) 9-6 and Olive Branch (MS) 5-2. The offense exploded in the Oxford game, with Gex going 2-2 with 5 RBI, including a three-run homer and Therese Daigre going 2-2 with a double and a two-run homer. Bernard drove in four of the five runs in the Olive Branch game and Taylor had five stolen bases between the two Saturday games.

The team is now 4-5 and will open its region schedule on Monday at St. Agnes.
