Basketball Eagles Get in the Swing of Things

(NOVEMBER 2023) - The basketball season is underway as the first month of the season has already come to an end.

Over Thanksgiving Break, the Lady Eagles played in a tournament at Briarcrest, defeating Lake Minneola (FL) 57-43 before falling to Seffner Christian (FL).

Maria Bair put in 28 points and Gracie Lamey chipped in 18 of her own. 

The girls also won at Cordova on Tuesday, November 28 by a score of 53-21. Lamey (18) and Bair (11) once again led the way.

Lamey took home Commercial Appeal Athlete of the Week honors and Bair was also nominated.

The boys played at MUS over the break, defeating KIPP 75-44 and losing to Houston.

Kylon Jones (19, 16) was the leading scorer in both games and Marcus Gray (16, 16) was close behind.

They also played at Cordova on Tuesday, but lost to the Wolves.

Both teams play at home against MASE on Friday night.
