SBA Boys Lose Close One at ECS

(CORDOVA, TN - January 22, 2022) - The SBA boys' basketball team played a close game with their Cordova neighbors, ECS, on Saturday.

Both teams shot well from the floor for the duration of the game. Gary Bair (13 pts) had a strong first half for SBA, while Zach Spencer and Marcus Gray both scored the majority of their respective 10 points in the first half. Damion Cox led the way with 17 points, shooting a perfect 13 for 13 from the free throw line.

SBA held a 39-34 lead at halftime, but ECS made their push in the third quarter. Co-leading scorers MJ Boyd and Mason Shropshire both finished with 19 points and ECS took the quarter 22-12.

The fourth quarter was contested and it went down to the wire but ECS made enough plays to win 49-42.

The boys are 6-11 and will travel to Briarcrest for a region contest on Friday.
