CBHS Runs Away from SBA Boys

(CORDOVA, TN - January 21, 2022) - The Eagle boys welcomed CBHS (19-0, 2-0) to The Nest on Friday night. The result was a game that was intense early on before the Purple Wave gradually built an insurmountable lead.

Hunter Pratt (15 pts) got the ball rolling for CBHS early in the first quarter and it appeared the Wave were going to cruise early on. SBA responded with a few big shots, including a three from Rhett Broussard (6 points).

CBHS held a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter but the tide shifted quickly from that point. Game high scorer Zion Owens (19 pts) began to find holes in the SBA interior defense and the CBHS defense shut down the Eagle offense to build a lead and go into the break up 25-14.

The pace of the game shifted and became more of a track meet in the third quarter. Owens and Florida State commit Chandler Jackson (17 pts) picked up the pace and the lead started to grow quickly. Damion Cox scored eight of his 17 points for SBA late in the fourth quarter but the game had already been decided. CBHS stayed undefeated with a 67-38 win.

The boys (6-10, 0-2) will face ECS on Saturday.
