Eagles Slay Gryphons

(COLLIERVILLE, TN - December 17, 2021) - St. Benedict and St. George's played an entertaining, back and forth basketball game on Friday night.

Both teams had strong offensive nights and neither team suffered through an extended scoring drought. The Gryphons held a one point lead at the end of the first quarter, but an SBA second quarter run gave the Eagles a 38-31 halftime lead.

Both teams continued their hot shooting in the second half and, despite a late St. George's push, the Eagles held on late with some clutch free throw shooting. Gary Bair (22 pts) and Damion Cox (19 pts) led the way for SBA and Josh Holloway (15 pts) was the leading scorer for the Gryphons.

The boys are 4-5 on the year and will return home to face Millington on Monday.
