Pope John Paul Ends SBA Football Season

(HENDERSONVILLE, TN - November 5, 2021) - The 2021 St. Benedict football season came to an end in the first round of the Division II-AAA state playoffs Friday night. The Eagles traveled to Hendersonville to face Pope John Paul with a chance to advance to the quarterfinal round and play Brentwood Academy.

The Knights, however, had other ideas and raced out to an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter and a 35-0 lead at halftime.

Thanks to two touchdown passes from Kenny Minchey to Colin Cook and three rushing touchdowns from Elijah Robb, PJP pushed the lead to 42-0 in the fourth quarter.

Seamas Carrasco scored a late touchdown for the Eagles but the result was all but decided at that point.
