Late Owl Comeback Dooms Eagle Baseball

(CORDOVA, TN - April 19, 2022) - The baseball team hosted MUS for the second game of a region home-and-home series on Tuesday.

The Owls built an early 5-0 lead against Eagle starter Turner Koltnow that was aided by a few errors.

The SBA offense responded with a run in the fourth inning and a five-run outburst in the sixth that gave the Eagles a 6-5 lead. Mason McHughes cracked a double and drove in three runs on the day. Weston McAlexander, Sam Price, and Alex Twigg also had hits.

With their backs against the wall, the Owls rallied and scored seven runs in the seventh inning before shutting out SBA in the bottom frame to close out a 12-6 win.

The team (2-22, 0-6) plays a home-and-home with FACS on Thursday and Friday.
