Eagles Come Up Just Short in Thriller

(CORDOVA, TN - September 12, 2022) - The volleyball team hosted West Memphis (AR) at The Nest on Monday night.

Although the crowd was light, the fans who were there were treated to a thrilling match.

The Blue Devils took advantage of a sleepy Eagle start to take a commanding two set lead right off the bat.

The girls fought back in both sets but dropped each by scores of 25-22 and 25-23.

With their backs against the wall, SBA responded with a positive attitude and clutch performance to take the third set 25-21 and the fourth set 25-20.

In the deciding fifth set, the Eagles took an 11-8 lead. West Memphis responded and ultimately scratched out the decisive final points after the set was tied at 15 to take the set and the match.

The girls (8-11) will be right back in action again tomorrow for a region match against Hutchison.
