Eagle Girls Finish Third in State

(SMYRNA, TN - January 19-20, 2023) - The girls' bowling team took its undefeated record to Smyrna to compete in the TSSAA II-AA State Team Tournament last week.

In the quarterfinal round, they faced Harpeth Hall. The team ran out to a 5-3 lead in the American 10-Pin round, earning points from Rachel Gammill (163), Zoe Crider (148), and Sommer Griffis (145) in addition to the pin total bonus points.

Harpeth Hall took the first two Baker games, but it was all Eagles from there as they swept the final three and earned the Baker game pin total bonus to win 16-7.

The semifinal round saw the Eagles facing off with GPS.

The teams were evenly matched and split the American 10-Pin matchups. Griffis (147), Marcy Bryant (139), and Crider (137) scored points and the team took the bonus points to lead 5-3.

The Baker games were also even, but GPS was able to win three to SBA's two and secured the bonus points for a 14-9 victory before losing to Friendship Christian in the final.

The girls finished another impressive year with a record of 9-1.
