Lady Eagles' Late Comeback Effort Falls Short

(MEMPHIS, TN - January 13, 2023) - The girls' basketball team faced off with Hutchison in their second region game of the year on Friday night.

After a slow start for both offenses, the Sting built a 31-20 halftime lead.

They looked poised to run away with the game after an early second half surge, but the Lady Eagles showed their grit and Hutchison struggled to get into their press break.

Maria Bair (12 points) and Molly Magness (11) were the leading scorers on a day where the scoring was balanced. Ava Jones was the high scorer for Hutchison, putting in 19 points.

Despite the comeback effort, the Sting pulled out a 58-45 win.

The girls (2-9, 0-2) play Houston on Monday.
