Baseball Falls Just Short at Whitehaven

(MEMPHIS, TN - May 2, 2022) - The baseball team played on the road Monday afternoon at Whitehaven and lost a closely contested game, 6-5, on a late walk-off hit by the Tigers.

Cooper Nerby went the distance for the Eagles, giving up six runs in 6.2 innings and striking out two. He pitched well enough to keep the Eagles in it for the duration until the late comeback.

Aiden Bolling and Mason McHughes each had a double and an RBI. Alex McAlpin and Turner Koltnow also drove in runs.

The team (4-28) will remain idle until this weekend's Division II-AA Region Tournament, which will be held at SBA.

The team opens against CBHS on Friday night.
