Baseball Loses Heartbreaker at St. George's

(COLLIERVILLE, TN - April 28, 2022) - The baseball team squared off with St. George's on Thursday night and the matchup delivered in the area of excitement.

The Gryphons got to Eagle starter Alex McAlpin in the bottom of the first inning, scoring two runs to take an early lead. From there, McAlpin settled in and allowed no further scoring through the sixth.

The Eagle offense got going as time passed, with Seamas Carrasco, Mason McHughes, and Aiden Bolling all driving in runs. Cooper Daniel had two hits of his own.

After scoring a run in the top of the 7th to take a 3-2 lead, SBA gave Alex McAlpin an opportunity to finish what he started. Unfortunately, St. George's was able to drive in the winning run on a walk off hit with two outs in the inning.

The team (3-27) next plays at Fayette Academy on Saturday afternoon.
