Eagle Boys Win Opener at Central

(MEMPHIS, TN - November 15, 2022) - The boys' basketball team kicked off the 2022-23 season by traveling to Central on Tuesday night.

It proved to be a positive start to the year, as the team emerged victorious.

The game was tightly contested throughout and the Warriors held the lead at the end of the first, second, and third quarters, although SBA cut the first quarter deficit a bit by halftime to make it 28-26.

Central extended the lead by a couple points prior to the fourth quarter.

That is when the Eagles made their move, riding a 19-11 run on their way to a 63-59 win.

Damion Cox was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 26 points and Marcus Gray added 18 himself.

Ryan Neely (9), D'Qorian Berry (6), and Zach Spencer (4) rounded out the scoring list for SBA.

The next game on the schedule is this year's home opener against FACS on Friday night.
